Here's the process for claiming Pennsylvania Lottery prizes.
All claims for prizes of $500 or more filed after December 6, 2023, will be paid in 2024, so winners receive their W-2G form and payment for the same tax year.
Prizes from online subscriptions will be automatically credited into your Pennsylvania Lottery account. Winnings over $600 will take longer to be credited as they need to undergo more thorough checks.
Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots, Cash4Life annuity top or second-level prizes, and annuity prizes for scratch-off games must be claimed in person.
Winnings in your Pennsylvania Lottery account can be withdrawn using ACH/eCheck, PayPal, or Play+.
To claim a prize by mail, send the signed winning ticket to:
Claims Department

The Pennsylvania State Lottery was established in 1971, and tickets went on sale in 1972. The state offers a number of daily draw and jackpot games. Players can also take part in the Powerball and Mega Millions multi-state lotteries.
Pennsylvania is the only state lottery that designates all its proceeds to programs that benefit older residents. To date, billions of dollars have been contributed to programs such as low-cost prescription assistance, senior centers and meals, care services, and property tax rebates.
You have 365 days from the ticket sale date to collect scratch-off and fast play prizes. For draw games, you have 365 days from the date of the draw. After 180 days, fast play and draw game tickets worth more than $100 cannot be claimed at a retailer—they must be submitted to the Pennsylvania Lottery with a claim form.
The Pennsylvania Lottery is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen tickets. Clearly print your name, address, and phone number on your ticket, and keep it in a safe place. Signing your ticket helps prove you own it in case you lose it.
You can’t buy tickets by mail or phone, but you can play online. On the Pennsylvania Lottery website you can play Powerball, Mega Millions, Cash4Life, Pick 2, Pick 3, Pick 4, Pick 5, Match 6, and Treasure Hunt.
Yes. All lottery prizes in Pennsylvania are subject to state and federal income taxes, and taxes are automatically withheld from prizes over $5,000. Winners of prizes over $600 will receive a W2-G form by mail.
You must be 18 or older to purchase and redeem lottery tickets.
You can choose from Pick 2, Pick 3, Pick 4, Pick 5, Cash 5, Cash4Life, Treasure Hunt, Match 6, Mega Millions, and Powerball.
No, details including the winner's name, city and county of residence, game won, date of winning, and prize amount will be made public record.
